RadioOnFire.com - Aberdeen police say a woman intentionally ran over a convenience store employee there on Sunday.
At around 9:28 a.m., police responded to the store in the 700 block of South Philadelphia Boulevard and found the 17-year-old girl critically injured. Witnesses told police the victim was run over following a verbal dispute with another woman. Witnesses said a white vehicle then drove at her, causing the victim to jump onto the hood and strike the windshield. That cause the driver to move forward, propelling the victim onto the ground. The car then pulled forward and drove over the victim, then left the scene.
The victim was flown to Shock Trauma and remains hospitalized, police said.
On the scene, officers encountered the vehicle's owner. The owner convinced the driver to return to the scene, police said. Shortly after, a white Nissan with damage to the hood and windshield pulled up.
Police then arrested that driver, who they identified as 21-year-old Shyria Watson of the unit block of Kimberton Drive in Newark, Delaware. She faces charges of first-degree assault, attempted second-degree murder and reckless endangerment. Bond was set Monday at $75,000, according to online court records Watson waived an attorney at her initial appearance, and had a bail review set for Tuesday afternoon.
