Jordan McNair's Parents Call Maryland Football Culture "Toxic", Want Head Coach Fired

RadioOnFire.com - The parents of Jordan McNair are calling for the University of Maryland head football coach D.J. Durkin to be fired following McNair's death that resulted from heat stroke in a May 29 team workout.

Marty McNair said the initial call they got that day was about Jordan having a seizure.

"Jordan was the type of person that he would give his all, his best because someone asked him to do something," Tonya McNair said. "He wouldn't have stopped, because if that's the culture then he wouldn't want to be called names or things they say they have been called."

Marty says there is "no doubt" there was a toxic culture in the program.

"The toxic culture is what led to them to push Jordan beyond what his body could tolerate," Marty McNair said. "It pushed them to look at him as being exhausted and out of shape to curse at him as he was literally failing. That's toxic."
