RadioOnFire.com - Authorities are investigating a shooting in Park Heights Monday morning. Police were called around 9:30 a.m. to the 5200 block of Park Heights Avenue on reports of a shooting.
Authorities said there were two Maryland Special Police officers inside a methadone clinic in Park Heights who witnessed a drug transaction in the parking lot.
The officers confronted a man in a car in the parking lot, and at least one of the officers fired at the man, hitting him in the arm, officials said.
The man was taken to a hospital and is expected to be OK.
"The officers involved are Special Police officers. They are certified through the state of Maryland. They are not Baltimore police officers," Baltimore police spokesman Jeremy Silbert said. "The individual they were attempting to arrest at the time, he's been transported to an area hospital."
Special Police officers are certified by the state and carry guns and badges.
No further details were immediately available.
