Olszewski Wins Recount In County Executive Race By 17 Votes




RadioOnFire.com - Former state delegate Johnny Olszewski Jr. has maintained his razor-thin margin of victory in a recount of the Democratic primary race for Baltimore County executive.

State Sen. Jim Brochin requested a recount after initial results showed him losing to Olszewski by just nine votes.But a recount concluded Saturday shows Olszewski the winner by 17 votes. That's out of more than 84,000 ballots cast.

About 100 people in Baltimore County worked to make sure every ballot was counted and counted correctly.


The final total released Saturday evening was 27,820 votes for Olszewski to 27,803 votes for Brochin. The results are unofficial until they are certified, which is expected to take place Tuesday or Wednesday.

"Tonight, there is absolutely no doubt we have won this primary," Olszewski said.
