Chance the Rapper Defends Kanye Following His Pro-Trump Tweets

RadioOnFire.com - Last week, Kanye West tweeted, "truth is my goal. Controversy is my gym. I'll do a hundred reps of controversy for a 6 pack of truth." Apparently, his goal of stirring controversy to create a bigger conversation is going over most people's heads.

This week, West took to Twitter to defend Donald Trump, which upset many in his fanbase and sent the internet into a frenzy. "You don't have to agree with trump but the mob can't make me not love him. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother," began West. "I love everyone. I don't agree with everything anyone does. That's what makes us individuals. And we have the right to independent thought." His words have earned him severe backlash from the left, while many of West's peer and friends have come to his defense. Namely, Chance the Rapper.

Although Chance himself has been a harsh critic of Trump himself, he took to Twitter to opine about West's remarks. "Black people don’t have to be democrats," tweeted Chance. He does have a point. The fact that almost an entire race has married themselves to one single political ideology shows a lack of diversity, which is sorely needed in the Republican party. Maybe if there were more Black Republicans, there would be a larger voice for African-Americans in a party that is drenched in what many see as questionable views. More Black people in the party would actually mean less racism in the party as well.

"Next President gon be independent," concluded Chance.
