Skippa Da Flippa Asks QC to Release Him from His 360 Deal

RadioOnFire.com - 360 deals are no longer a secret within the industry. Rappers have been venting about the money-grabbing deal system that many record labels use in the wake of the dominance of virtual music. Prior to 360 deals, rappers made a hefty amount of money off their record sales, tours, and merchandise. Labels were able to recover their initial investment in rappers from lucrative record sale revenues. After the internet came through and introduced streaming and downloads though, record labels lost millions. In an attempt to recoup those funds, the 360 deal was created. In 360 deals, labels reach into the artist's pockets and take a percentage of several different areas, including record sales, touring, merchandise, and movie deals.

Up-and-coming rapper Skippa Da Flippa signed a 360 deal with Quality Control, an independent Atlanta-based label that also houses the Migos and Lil Yatchy. Flippa is apparently tired of the label reaching into his pockets because he hopped on social media to request that QC terminates his contract.

"Ya'll gone let a ni**a out dis 360? Or ya'll want me to do what I Gotta do," vented the rapper on Instagram. He continued on to write, "NEVER BEEN A HOE NEVER BEEN FAKE. NEVER SWITCHED UP IF IT WAS REAL. YALL AINT DEATH ROW NI**A."
