Stabbing Victim Reveals Her Killers to Cops Moments Before Dying

RadioOnFire.com - There are very few stories where a victim properly identifies their killer to authorities before passing away on the same day, but one California woman survived her life-ending wounds long enough to do just that.

Melissa Leonardo, 25, and Daniel Gross, 19, are being charged with murder after stabbing Lizette Andrea Cuesta and leaving her for dead on the side of the road. Cuesta, 19, was discovered after California police responded to a 911 call that stated an armless woman was laying in the road. When authorities arrived, Cuesta was not missing an arm, but was brutally stabbed and was bleeding to death.

Her blood trail extended for almost 100 yards from the point where Leonardo and Gross stabbed her repeatedly and dumped her out of a car. A passing driver was the first person to notice the injured girl and call 911.

Cuesta was able to identify her killers to law enforcement before she passed away at Eden Hospital Trauma in Castro Valley. "I've been around a long time, and I can only think of two or three times that I'm aware of in our agency that we've been able to get a dying declaration like that," Sgt. Ray Kelly told the San Francisco Chronicle. Leonardo and Gross were arrested in Modesto and taken to the Santa Rita Jail.
