The New Jersey-born, Georgia raised, rapper, singer, and producer emerged onto the scene two years ago with heartfelt music and a strong message against drugs. He is one of the few Soundcloud rappers who actually made it past the virtual world. In 2017, Russ signed a deal with Colombia Records, and he hasn't looked back ever since.
Russ' single "Losin Control" was just awarded a double platinum certification last week. He originally released the single on SoundCloud in 2015. Russ posed in front of beautiful butterfly doors with his 2x platinum plaque and posted a thankful message to his fans for helping him reach that milestone. Now, just a few days later, he has earned another one.
Once again posing in front of those orange and black butterfly doors, Russ posted himself holding a 2x platinum plaque for his single "What They Want." The caption on his social media post read, "The fans got me another plaque. What They Want. 2x Platinum. Love y’all." "What They Want" was featured on There's Really A Wolf, Russ' debut studio album, which earned the rapper a gold plaque. He's expected to drop new music this year.
