Mo'Nique Opens Herself Up to Potential Lawsuit with Netflix Posts $500k Offer

RadioOnFire.comMo'Nique and Netflix took their beef to another level yesterday. The 50-year old comedian started the exchange when she launched an attack on Netflix via social media two weeks ago. The Parkers star claimed that Netflix was sexist and that she was offered significantly less money than other comedians for a proposed special for the streaming service. Mo'Nique cited Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock, who were reportedly offered $20 million deals. She also called out Amy Schumer, who was originally offered $11 million, but renegotiated for more.

In response to the accused gender bias, Mo'Nique asked her fans to boycott Netflix. Several stars, such as Jada Pinket-Smith and Wanda Sykes, have gotten behind Mo'Nique's boycott.

Last week entertainment journalist Jawn Murray broke a story that claimed Mo was lying, and that Netflix actually offered her $3 million. In response, Mo showcased the email that they offered $500K in, which backs up her claims. On her Instagram post that exposes the deal, Mo writes, "NETFLIX OFFER. @jawnmurray IS THIS A 3 MILLION DOLLAR OFFER? JOIN US TODAY LIVE AS WE DISCUSS."

It was never in question that Netflix's SECOND offer was for $500K, what was in question was Mo'Nique not wanting to audition for $3 Million payday - in response Netflix offered the significantly lower $500K. In a foolish attempt to get people on her side, she potential opens herself up to litigation with Netflix by posting a portion of communication which is labeled "CONFIDENTIAL". Don't be fooled, this is not all of the communication, this is only one part.

The contract contains a list of stipulations including a clause that stops Mo from performing for a year, and another clause that commands the comedian not to use any material from the project for two years.
