RadioOnFire.com - Joe Jackson may have spent decades under scrutiny for the way that he treated his world famous children in their Jackson 5 years, but that has never stopped him from defending the integrity of their work as musicians.
Until this day, Joe may argue against the validity of Michael's famous accounts on how he mentally and physically abused the bunch, but when it comes to the music, there is nothing to dispute as far the Jackson family patriarch is concerned. Contrary to what Quincy Jones may say, it was all brilliant, and it was pretty much all Michael, said Joe on Saturday, February 10.
"I raised Michael. He's my son. And Quincy Jones knows better," the elder Jackson told a TMZ reporter who raised an inquiry into his position on Jones' recent comments about MJ stealing for some of his biggest hits. When asked more specifically whether he's willing to stand on his insistence that "Billie Jean," for example, was 100% original and not a rip of Donna Summer's "State of Independence," Joe replied: "Yes. Practically everything is."
Joe Jackson wouldn't expand any further on the topic as he made his way to his ride from having dinner at Toscanova in Calabasas.
