Ronda Rousey Makes WWE Debut, Says it Will Be Her Life for Next Few Years

RadioOnFire.com - Ronda Rousey has big plans for the future and they don't include a return to the octagon to redeem the losses that blemished her record the last two times mixed martial arts fans saw the judo specialist do battle. Rousey is moving on.

The former Olympian and UFC women's bantamweight champion made it official that she is prepared to go the long haul in the business of World Wrestling Entertainment - by announcing that she has signed with the WWE, after making a cameo at the Royal Rumble in Philadelphia on Sunday night, January 28.

“This is my life now. Yeah, they have first priority on my time for the next several years. This is not a smash and grab, this is not a publicity stunt,” Rousey said after making the surprise appearance. The 30-year-old former darling of the fight-game had just shocked the Wells Fargo Center crowd by emerging before them in a Rowdy Roddy Piper style t-shirt - as Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation” blared through the speakers.

After pointing to a Wrestlemania sign in a hint at when the world can expect to see her debut, fans got a clue about who she might be squaring up against in New Orleans, come April - as she extended a handshake to Royal Rumble winner Asuka, only to be denied. Rousey then left the ring and shook hands with Stephanie McMahon, before exiting the arena.

“This has been a dream of mine since me and all my girlfriends would sit around and watch wrestling together,” Rousey would later tell WWE.com. “No matter how much I tried to do other things in my life, this kept following me around. It’s time to take a hint from the universe and go for it.”
