Baltimore Cut From Amazon's List of Second Headquarter Location

RadioOnFire.com - Amazon has narrowed its list of possible locations for its second headquarters and Baltimore is not on the list.
Montgomery County, Maryland and Washington D.C. are still in the running for the $5 billion project that is expected to employ 50,000.
Amazon has said the second headquarters location will be one "with strong local and regional talent -- particularly in software development and related fields -- as well as a stable and business-friendly environment to continue hiring and innovating."
Construction and operation of the second headquarters is expected to create tens of thousands of jobs.

"Getting from 238 [locations] to 20 was very tough -- all the proposals showed tremendous enthusiasm and creativity," Amazon said in a statement Thursday.
A decision on the location of the second headquarters is expected to be made before 2019.
The cities still in the running are:
- Atlanta, GA
- Austin, TX
- Boston, MA
- Chicago, IL
- Columbus, OH
- Dallas, TX
- Denver, CO
- Indianapolis, IN
- Los Angeles, CA

- Nashville, TN
- Newark, NJ
- New York City, NY
- Northern Virginia, VA

Amazon ranks No. 1 on Fast Company's Most Innovate Companies and the electronic commerce and cloud computing company has seen its stock price surge nearly 60 percent in the last 12 months.
