Trump Tweets About "Great Day" In Puerto Rico

The backlash against the Trump administration over their response to the devastation in Puerto Rico caused by Hurricane Maria has been very loud. Many felt that Trump dragged his feet on helping the territory with relief, while Trump responded with ideas on what happened. While finally making a visit to Puerto Rico, Trump told the Puerto Rican people that they had knocked their budget out of whack because the U.S. has “spent a lot of money on Puerto Rico.” Along with that, Trump bragged about the territory’s death count being lower than that caused by Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana and even went as far as literally throwing supplies at local citizens while at a church where relief good was being handed out.

Since then, Trump has taken to his favorite platform—Twitter, to tell what went down in Puerto Rico. He said “A great day in Puerto Rico yesterday. While some of the news coverage is Fake, most showed great warmth and friendship.” Another tweet found him trying to downplay video coverage from media outlets, saying “Wow, so many Fake News stories today. No matter what I do or say, they will not write or speak truth. The Fake News Media is out of control!”
