School Bus Driver At Fault In Crash That Injured 5

A crash involving an overturned Howard County school bus and a passenger car on US 29 Northbound at MD 100 in Ellicott City sent several people to the hospital. Police say the driver was speeding.
The crash happened around 7 a.m. on Monday.

Officials say the bus was headed to Mt. Hebron High School when it flipped onto its side and was then struck by a 2005 Toyota Matrix.
Police later found that the bus driver, 50-year-old Tyra India Wilcox of Halethorpe was speeding when she lost control of the bus. They issued her a citation for negligent driving.
Howard County Fire/Rescue says there have been five non-life threatening injuries. Besides the bus driver, the injured include two 15-year-old students from Mt. Hebron High School, driver's aid Jessica Blank and Matrix driver Bad Krakower.

Both 15-year-old students were taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital as a precaution. Wilcox, Blank and Krakower were all taken to Howard County General Hospital with minor injuries.
US 29 Northbound was closed for a little over two hours to assist the injured, investigate and clean up the crash.
