Death Toll In Las Vegas Shooting Rises To 58, 515 Injured

RadioOnFire.com - Las Vegas authorities say more than 58 people are dead and 515 were injured after a man opened fire on an outdoor concert late Sunday. It is now the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo says officers confronted the suspect on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino across the street from the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival.

Authorities say the man is dead. The suspect is identified as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock of Mesquite, Nevada.

Police now confirm that Paddock killed himself before officers entered his room.

At least eight guns, including a number of long rifles, were found in his room, Las Vegas Police Undersheriff Kevin McMahill told CNN.

Officers in Mesquite, Nevada, where Paddock resided, reportedly said they had no previous contact with him. Officials did not know how long he had been living in the area.

Police say they located 62-year-old Marilou Danley, who was initially wanted as a person of interest in this incident. They later announced that she was not believed to have been involved in the shooting. She was believed to be out of the country at the time of the shooting. Police say Paddock had been carrying some of Danley's identification.
