RadioOnFire.com - The identities of those responsible for sparking chaos and confusion while brawling amidst a crowd of travelers at Fort Lauderdale International Airport earlier this week have been disclosed by the Sheriff's office of Broward County.
Desmond Waul, 22, Janice Waul, 24, and Devante Garrett, 22, all of Long Island, NY, each remains behind bars on $10,000 bond for courting the melee. They were arrested at around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, May 8, after heading up a wild altercation that saw pushing, pulling, punching, and even the assault on an officer, who at one point during a recording on the commotion, could be seen heading to the floor while trying to intervene in the fight.
The brawl was the most recent of a number of incidences of violence that have been captured on film at airports and on airplanes across the world over the past several weeks. At least nine flights had to be canceled as a result of what police described as a near riot. A complaint filed by the sheriff's office cites Garrett and the Waul siblings as having “caused the crowd of approximately 500 people to become enraged, fearful or visually upset." The sheriff's report also goes so far as to say that their actions lead to the crowd becoming "increasingly aggressive to the point of near violence toward airline employees.”
They now face charges of inciting or encouraging a riot, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and trespassing.
