Kevin Plank Responds Publicly To Trump Comments In Letter To Baltimore

RadioOnFire.com - In an interview with CNBC last week, Under Armour founder and CEO Kevin Plank praised President Donald Trump being pro-business, saying he's "highly passionate" and "is a real asset for the country."
Shortly thereafter, criticism followed by some of Under Armour's most prominent spokespeople; Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson, Misty Copeland and Steph Curry.
This morning, he responded in an open letter to Baltimore which appeared as a full-page advertisement in The Baltimore Sun.
Plank began by stating that his company stands for opportunity.
"I believe one of the greatest American attributes is entrepreneurship, and I am incredibly proud of how the Under Armour story reflects this," he wrote. I moved Under Armour to Baltimore in 1998 when it was a two-year-old company with two employees. Today we have 14,000 teammates across the world, and are proud to call Baltimore our home. In our city, we stand for entrepreneurship, job creation and opportunity."
Throughout the letter, Plank highlights the sports performance manufacturer's values -- one being on immigration and the travel ban.
"We believe that immigration is a source of strength, diversity and innovation for global companies based in America like Under Armour," he wrote. "And I personally believe that immigration is the foundation of our country's exceptionalism. ... We are publicly opposing the travel ban. With an anticipated new executive order on immigration set to come out, we will join a coalition of companies in opposition to any new actions that negatively impact our team, their families or community."
The other values mentioned were pertaining to equal rights, job creation and human rights.
Plank closed out the letter by giving examples of how the company's values have been demonstrated by what they have already done.
