Actor Jay Bowdy Commits Suicide On Facebook Live, Leaves Behind 6 Kids

RadioOnFire.com - An aspiring actor with a sexual assault case hanging over his head, took his own life early this week, and live streamed his final moments while sitting in his car in Los Angeles, authorities confirmed on Wednesday, January 25.
Frederick Jay Bowdy was found dead on arrival at around 6:30 a.m. on Monday. Police had tracked Bowdy down on account of members of his family who reached out to the LAPD at 5:30 a.m. to inform them of his whereabouts after learning that he was threatening suicide on Facebook. By the time officers pulled up to the scene, it was too late. Investigators are looking into the possibility that he pulled the trigger as soon as he saw the squad car approaching his location in the North Hollywood Arts District. Facebook has since removed the video in question.
It is believed that Bowdy was still under distress over an arrest made on him over suspicion of sexual assault last Thursday. He was released on $100,000 bail on Friday.
Of the several roles Bowdy was able to land in TV and film since his venture into Hollywood, his most notable was as the leading man in a 2016 indie flick titled "Prepper," which featured him as a high school teacher. Were it not for his dream to make it on the silver screen, Bowdy's future would have been in the classroom. He was a graduate of the University of Texas in Arlington's Masters in education program. He also flirted with hopes to graduate towards a successful professional basketball career, but his ambitions were sidelined after he was forced to succumb to multiple knee surgeries. At the time of his death, he was balancing the strides he was making in his acting career with work as an exotic dancer at "The Hollywood Men" in L.A.
Bowdy leaves behind six children. He was 33-years-old.
