More Than 400,000 Vote Early In Four Days

RadioOnFire.com - State elections officials say more than 400,000 people have voted in the first four days of early voting.
According to figures posted online by the Maryland State Board of Elections, 74,052 people voted on Sunday.
It brings the total number of people who have voted early to 400,235, over four days.

The Maryland State Board of Elections reports 80,283 people voted on Saturday; 123,020 people voted on Friday; and 122,880 voted on Thursday.
The state is close to surpassing the total number of voters who cast ballots in the entire early voting period ahead of the 2012 General Election, the first presidential election where early voting was legal in Maryland.
In 2012, 430,573 people voted early in a five day early voting period.  The early voting period that year was supposed to be six days, but one day was cancelled due to Superstorm Sandy.
State election officials had expected turnout to be lighter during the weekend.
Some polling locations did report lines of voters, but no where near as long as the lines were on Thursday and Friday.
Early voting centers are open every day through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Unlike polling places on Election Day, officials say voters can register to vote and cast their ballot at any early voting center. Voters can also file an address change at an early voting center.
As of Saturday night, the Board of Elections reports 1,866 new voters have registered at an early voting center.
People must vote at a location in the jurisdiction where they live.
