Baltimore Police Investigate Five Overnight Shootings, One Fatal


One person was killed and four others were wounded in five shootings overnight in Baltimore.
Police said Dante Lamont Barnes, 31, was shot in the head around 11:50 p.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of N. Kenwood Avenue He was declared dead at the scene.
Police said they are also investigating four shootings. 
A 25-year-old man was shot in the arm around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 4700 block of Beaufort Avenue. A 23-year-old man was shot in the stomach and leg around 10 p.m. in the 2300 block of Calverton Heights Avenue. A 31-year-old man was shot in the foot around 10:15 p.m. in the 5900 block of Belair Road. Investigators said he was walking when he was shot. And a 40-year-old man was shot around 3:05 a.m. Thursday in the 900 block of N. Calhoun St. The victim, who walked into an area hospital, told police he was walking when someone came up and shot him.
Each of the final four victims were being treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
