Councilman Nick J. Mosby & DTLR Host #EYEAMBaltimore Tour

High School tour created to empower, inspire and energize West Baltimore youth

May 15, 2015 (Baltimore, MD)--One of the most important lessons learned from the protest marches and uprisings in April is that Baltimore's youth have a voice that should be heard. Today, Councilman Nick J. Mosby will partner with Downtown Locker Room (DTLR) for the  #EYEAMBaltimore Tour, a forum to provide youth an opportunity to express their thoughts about life in Baltimore, and to hear from and engage with other young people that have overcome obstacles to achieve success.

Joining Councilman Mosby on the #EYEAMBaltimore Tour will be boxer Gervonta "Tank" Davis, and Baltimore rappers Lil Scoota, Young Moose, Chino and Lil Key. Together they will engage students at Frederick Douglass, Carver Vocational-Technical and Bluford Drew Jemison High Schools in a dialogue about the strategies they employ to be successful.

"I chose these young men to join me on the #EYEAMBaltimore Tour
because they grew up in Baltimore, just like the students they will encounter, were impacted by violence, negative influences and bad decisions, however all of them found a way to turn their lives around in order to move in a more positive direction," said Councilman Mosby. "I want the young people we will encounter today to see themselves in the young men on the panel, and to be inspired to strive for their own success, despite their circumstances."
The #EYEAMBaltimore Tour stops at Carver Vocational-Technical High School at 10 a.m., Frederick Douglass High School at 11 a.m., and Bluford Drew Jemison High School at 12 p.m.
