After Only 10 Days Anthony Scaramucci Fired as Trump Communications Director

RadioOnFire.com - White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci has been fired after fewer than 10 days in the post.
The former Wall Street financier had drawn criticism after calling a reporter to give a profanity-laced tirade against his colleagues.
Mr Trump's chief of staff Reince Priebus and spokesman Sean Spicer both left their posts with his appointment.
The decision was made by Mr Trump's new chief of staff, Gen John Kelly, who was sworn in on Monday.
The president was also unhappy with Mr Scaramucci's performance, the White House confirmed.
Mr Trump's spokeswoman, Sarah Sanders, said the president thought Mr Scaramucci's comments to the reporter "were inappropriate for a person in that position".

He has not been moved to another White House role, she added.
Mr Trump had tweeted in the morning about job and wage figures, and insisted there is "No WH chaos", referring to reports about fighting among White House staff.
Mr Scaramucci had boasted of reporting directly to the president, rather than to his chief of staff.

Boosie Badazz's Brother Arrested For Stealing $361K From The Rapper's Bank Account

RadioOnFire.com - Police have tracked down the person who drained $361,000 from Boosie Badazz's Capital One bank account. It turns out that the culprit was the rapper's own brother, Taquari Hatch.

TMZ reports that Taquari used Boosie's stolen driver's license to make more than a dozen wire transfers to different people ... who would then give him cash.

Bank officials caught on after Taquari made the mistake of mentioning that he had a wife on a phone call. Boosie is not married, which sent the fraud department into action.

Taquari was arrested last week and booked for identity theft and fraud charges.

Speed Camera Tickets Start Today; Red Light Cameras Go Online

RadioOnFire.com - In Baltimore City, motorists can expect red light cameras to go online on today.
Also today, the city’s speed cameras which have been issuing warnings for the last month, will begin snapping pictures and issuing $40 tickets for violators.
At a news conference last week, City Transportation Director Michelle Porciau told reporters today at City Hall that these cameras are not about making money for the city, but about safety.
“We want this to be a safe place. We want complete streets for everyone, pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists, and so here’s another part of the program,” Porciau said at the news conference with Mayor Catherine Pugh.
“We are experiencing over 20,000 crashes per year in Baltimore, so this is no joke.”
There are eight red light cameras around the city that will begin issuing warnings for violators for 30 days, before beginning to issue tickets.
The cameras will operate 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week. Violators caught driving through red lights will be fined $75.
Speed cameras have been in place at seven different locations since June 26th.
Porciau says cameras issued 1,000 warnings per day over the last month.
Starting today, violators caught on camera going 12 mph or more above the speed limit between 6:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M.  Monday through Friday, will get a fine of $40.
This is the city’s third attempt at speed cameras.  In 2013, the city abandoned its program after cameras were found to be issuing tickets to drivers whose vehicles were not moving.
Officials say radar and laser technology will be used to insure accuracy of the cameras and the camera operator will not receive a portion of the fine from every ticket issued.

Inmate That Escaped Rikers Island Gets Captured

RadioOnFire.com - An inmate on Rikers Island was captured after escaping the jail on Thursday night (July 27). The facility was placed on lockdown while officers searched for him on the island.
New York City Department of Corrections tells AOL.com that Naquan Hill, 24 had not returned from his outdoor recreational time at 7:30 pm. The jail staff realized he was gone when the headcount was off by one and the entire facility was sealed off.
Eventually, he was recaptured on the island at 2:30 am after the island was placed on red alert, its highest emergency level.
NYPD and Port Authority Police joined forces to aid correctional officers during the seven-hour manhunt. Officers searched throughout parts of Queens and the surrounding East River. K-9 Units and helicopters were deployed.
The escape resulted in hundreds of visitors being stranded on the island for hours. Passengers reportedly flooded out of five packed buses shortly after 10:45 p.m. according to the New York Daily News. Many of them were heard shouting “Freedom!” while others suffered from various medical problems including, but not limited to asthma attacks.
Wendy Jamie, who was visiting an inmate at the Kross center tells the New York Daily News that they were stuck on the bus for hours while chaos ensued.
“I was stuck in that bus for three hours. No consideration. Everybody loud. Everybody was going crazy, everybody was in the bus suffocating,” said the 33-year old.
Hill is being held without bail on two felony counts of burglary involving two 2016 break ins in Queens. He will have a hearing for the incidents coming August.

Ravens' OL John Urschel Retires at 26 After Recent CTE Brain Report

RadioOnFire.com - The NFL and football fans in Baltimore felt the brunt of the recent bombshell report on the link between the game and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) when Ravens star John Urschel suddenly announced his retirement at the ripe young age of 26. In declaring the end of his career on the gridiron, Urschel, who has played a pivotal role on the Ravens' top-10 ranked offensive line over the past three seasons, confirmed that his decision had to do with the Journal of the American Medical Association report's findings.
In a statement released via social media, Urschel stated his plans to return to school so that he may pursue a doctorate in mathematics at MIT. Besides having developed into an elite athlete, the 6'3" 300 pound Urschel is also known to be a world class chess player and a promising mathematician. In fact, his cognitive gifts have been recognized in the world of journalism, while writing numerous articles as a guest Advanced Stats Columnist for The Players' Tribune. However, Urschel has attested to feeling like he was putting his mind at risk playing the game he loved. During an appearance on "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel" in January, he vowed to play on despite suffering a dangerous concussion in his rookie season. "It took me about three weeks before I was football-ready. It took me a little bit longer before my high-level visualizations ability came back," he said at the time.
Wednesday's AMA Journal report sent shockwaves through the sport with the revelation that 99% or 110 out of 111 of the brains of former NFL players that were studied, had tested positive for CTE. The brains that were tested came from players ranging in age from 23 to 89 years old. Urschel plans on attending classes in the Fall but taking the Spring semester off to tend to his family, as he and his wife are expecting their first child in December.
"Thank you to everyone for the kind words today. It wasn't an easy decision, but I believe it was the right one for me," Urschel stated on Twitter.

Senate Rejects Health Plan That Would Only Repeal Obamacare

RadioOnFire.com - Yesterday, Republicans cast their votes to move forward with repealing Obamacare. However, there was a decision to make on if they would do “clean repeal” or “repeal-only” health plan which is basically taking away Obamacare with no replacement ready to go. Since then, the Senate has rejected the “repeal-only” plan that would strip very important parts of Obamacare without providing a solid replacement. This is another failed attempt to remove Obamacare by Republicans that places them back in the same spot of trying to find a way to take down the Affordable Care Act.

$1 Million Settlement For Baltimore Family of Man Who Died In Police Custody

RadioOnFire.com - Baltimore City police stopped West as he drove through northeast Baltimore on July 18, 2013.

Police said officers spotted a bulge of suspected drugs in his sock and West took off. Officers with Morgan State University police helped city police officers subdue West.

An autopsy commissioned by West's family concluded that the 44-year-old man died from asphyxiation while being restrained. The family filed a federal lawsuit against the city and state in 2014, and all interested parties agreed to a settlement.

"It's a federal constitutional claim, so when you consider the risk to the city, the family's interest, both parties decided that it was the reasonable and wise thing to do," Baltimore City Solicitor David Ralph said.

The city's Board of Estimates will vote on the city's share of the settlement Aug. 9.

The state Board of Public Works unanimously voted Wednesday without discussion to approve a $400,000 settlement with the West family.

City officials said it's the right thing to do.

"The purpose of our settlements is to bring finality, and this is the family's idea of what justice means to them and the city," Ralph said.

The family's attorney declined to comment until the agreement is finalized.

West's sister, who held weekly vigils to draw attention to her brother's death, could not be reached for comment.

The officers involved have all been cleared of any wrongdoing.

2 Protesters Arrested At Gun Bill In Committee Hearing

RadioOnFire.com - A City Council committee on Tuesday weakened the gun bill championed by top city officials, including the city's police commissioner, in a hearing made all the more contentious by a number of the bill's critics.
The Judiciary and Legislative Investigations Committee held a hearing on a bill that would impose a one-year jail sentence for anyone illegally possessing a gun within 300 feet of a school park, public building or church. The committee unanimously approved an amendment that would exempt first-time offenders unless they are committing another crime.
The bill later passed the committee, 5-2, and now goes to the full council, where more amendments may await.
Mayor Catherine Pugh introduced the bill earlier this month with the support of Police Commissioner Kevin Davis and City Council President Jack Young.
Davis testified to the committee Tuesday. Asked how the 100-yard rule would work, he said police are drafting a map.
Councilman Ryan Dorsey, an opponent of the measure, asked Davis for a yes or no answer to the question, "Will this bill make crime worse?"
"Councilman, you don't decide the length of my answer," Davis responded.
Dorsey later said in a tweet that Davis "hasn't once responded to any communications from me" and hasn't met with him since 2016.
The bill also had a number of very public critics, several of whom were escorted out in a clash with police.
City police said two men, a 27-year-old and a 29-year-old, were arrested and will be charged. The younger man complained of chest pains after he was arrested and he was taken to a hospital.

Senator John McCain Is No Longer A Hero! He Is Just A Republican

RadioOnFire.com - Today, in Washington DC, a cancer-stricken Senator named John McCain (AZ) risked his life flying across the country, just days a life threatening surgery to help our draft-dodger President Donald Trump take health care from millions? This will be his legacy, aiding rich people rip health care from 25 million Americans. There are people across this country who will be faced with serious medical challenges but this health bill will not allow them to get life or death care.

The ultimate, pathetic irony is some of the people who are gonna get CRUSHED by this Heath Care bill include the very people who supported Donald Trump the most and he could care less.

One of my Twitter friends Mark Ligos summed up John McCain's lasting legacy well when he said.

"Please, don't anyone ever tell me again that John McCain IS a hero. Without question, he WAS a hero. Today, he's just a Republican."

Live Link Inside: Senate Begins Debating Obamacare Repeal!

WASHINGTON — The Senate narrowly voted on Tuesday to begin debate on a bill to repeal major provisions of the Affordable Care Act, taking a pivotal step forward after the dramatic return of Senator John McCain, who cast a crucial vote despite his diagnosis of brain cancer.

Vice President Mike Pence cast the tie-breaking vote.

The 51-50 vote came only a week after the Republican effort to dismantle a pillar of former President Barack Obama’s legacy appeared all but doomed. It marked an initial win for President Trump, who pushed, cajoled and threatened senators over the last days to at least begin debating the repeal of the health care law.

But even with that successful step, it is unclear whether Republicans will have the votes they need to uproot the law that has provided health insurance to millions of Americans. The Senate will now begin debating, amending and ultimately voting in the coming days on legislation that would have a profound impact on the American health care system.

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell Tries to End Obamacare

RadioOnFire.comMajority leader on health care vote: "I hope everyone seizes the moment - I certainly will," Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said ahead of the vote to move the health care bill forward. If the motion to proceed passes, senators can start to revise and make amendments to the health care bill.

In his opening remarks, McConnell called Obamacare a "failed left-wing experiment."

Today's vote is, essentially, to begin debate. It's unclear if McConnell has the votes to move forward.

McCain's Return, Heavy With Drama For 'Obamacare' Repeal

WASHINGTON (AP) -- At the twilight of a storied career and battling a brain tumor, Sen. John McCain stands poised to deliver for his party and his president on the issue that's defined the GOP for the past seven years.
It's a situation heavy with drama and symbolism. The 80-year-old Arizona senator will return to Washington just days after a cancer diagnosis, to cast what could be the deciding vote Tuesday to open debate on legislation to repeal and replace "Obamacare."
McCain himself campaigned heavily on the "Obamacare" repeal issue last year as he won re-election to a sixth and almost certainly final Senate term. And there could be sweet revenge in defying cancer to undo the signature legislation of the man who beat him for the presidency in 2008, Barack Obama.
The Arizona senator would also deliver a key victory to President Donald Trump, despite emerging as one of the president's most outspoken GOP critics on Capitol Hill. During last year's campaign Trump shockingly ridiculed McCain over his years as a POW during the Vietnam War.
And the situation was eerily reminiscent of a similar scenario involving McCain's good friend, the late Democratic Sen. Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts, who returned to the Senate in July 2008 while battling brain cancer to vote on Medicare legislation, his dramatic entry in the chamber eliciting cheers and applause. Kennedy died of cancer in August 2009.
The possibility of McCain returning had been discussed around the Capitol on Monday, yet the press release from his office late in the day came as a surprise. Nor did it guarantee success on Tuesday's vote for Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who is managing a balky GOP caucus with almost no room for error in the closely divided Senate.

Trump Misspeaks, Claiming '17 years' of ObamaCare

RadioOnFire.com - Trump has been pushing hard to pass a bill to replace the Affordable Care Act, a.k.a Obamacare, for some time now. The president and the Senate have had no success so far, and Trump voiced his frustrations during a recent White House speech. However, when speaking on the so called “havoc” created by Obamacare, Trump mistakenly said the wrong amount of years that the health care act has been in effect. Trump said, “For the past 17 years, Obamacare has wreaked havoc on the lives of innocent, hard-working Americans.” For those unaware, Barack Obama only spent eight years in office, in which Obamacare was created and implemented.
Trump went on to deliver a speech that seemed like a plea to Senate Republicans to “do the right thing” by voting to remove Obamacare and replace it with another act. “And for Senate Republicans, this is their chance to keep their promise. Over and over again, they said ‘repeal and replace.’ But they can now keep their promise to the American people to provide emergency relief to those in desperate need of help and to improve healthcare for all Americans.”

Usher's STD Accuser Ups Lawsuit to $20 Million After Testing Positive for Herpes

RadioOnFire.com - The Atlanta woman who is suing Usher for $10 million for allegedly exposing her to herpes, has upped the amount she is asking for in damages to $20 million. The unnamed woman, claims that Usher failed to disclose that he had an STD the two times they met up to have sexual intercourse in April. On Saturday, July 22, the results of her pending test were in, and she learned that she had actually contracted the virus and she alleges the singer gave to her.
According to the claimant, during her first intimate encounter with Usher in mid-April, they consented to oral sex and intercourse and did so with the protection of a condom. On April 28, she traveled to New Orleans to be with the 38-year-old singer for his appearance at the city's annual Jazz and Heritage Festival, and it was during that trip that they allegedly had unprotected sex.

Meanwhile, there are reports surfacing that Usher may face additional lawsuits in the coming weeks, with celebrity lawyer Lisa Bloom revealing over Twitter that she's been contacted by multiple women who say that they too bedded the "Burn" singer without being forewarned that he carried the STD.

16-Year-Old Wins $5 Million Lottery But is Denied Payday for Being Underage

RadioOnFire.com - One 16-year-old in California got lucky and bought a scratch-off from a gas station that ended up winning $5 million. However, the California Lottery Commission ended up denying the winning scratch-off because it was purchased by a minor. Now, Ward Thomas—the 16-year-old’s father is suing the Commission and gas station clerk.
Thomas’ claim says that he sent his son to the gas station to exchange winning scratch-offs for new ones. He also noted that the clerk never ID’d his son when the teenager went to purchase the tickets. Along with that, he claims the clerk never stated that you needed to be 18 or older to play. After realizing he won, Thomas went to get the ticket verified in two different locations, with one of the locations being the commission’s Santa Ana district office. Since being hit with the lawsuit, the lottery commission has not issued a statement to press.

9 Die In Immigrant-Smuggling Attempt In Sweltering Truck

SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- At least nine people died after being crammed into a sweltering tractor-trailer found parked outside a Walmart in the midsummer Texas heat, victims of what authorities said on Sunday was an immigrant-smuggling attempt gone wrong.
The driver was arrested, and nearly 20 others rescued from the rig were hospitalized in dire condition, many with extreme dehydration and heatstroke, officials said.
"We're looking at a human-trafficking crime," said San Antonio Police Chief William McManus, calling it "a horrific tragedy."
Authorities were called to the San Antonio parking lot late Saturday or early Sunday and found eight people dead inside the truck. A ninth victim died at the hospital, said Liz Johnson, spokeswoman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The victims "were very hot to the touch. So these people were in this trailer without any signs of any type of water," San Antonio Fire Chief Charles Hood said.
Authorities would not say whether the trailer was locked when they arrived, but they said it had no working air conditioning.
It was just the latest smuggling-by-truck operation to end in tragedy. In one of the worst cases on record in the U.S., 19 immigrants locked inside a stifling rig died in Victoria, Texas, in 2003.
Based on initial interviews with survivors of the San Antonio tragedy, more than 100 people may have been packed into the back of the 18-wheeler at one point in its journey, ICE acting Director Thomas Homan said. Officials said 39 people were inside when rescuers arrived, and the rest were believed to have escaped or hitched rides to their next destination.
Some of the survivors told authorities they were from Mexico, and four appeared to be between 10 and 17 years old, Homan said. Investigators gave no details on where the rig began its journey or where it was headed.
But Homan said it was unlikely the truck was used to carry the immigrants across the border into the United States. He said people from Latin America who rely on smuggling networks typically cross the border on foot and are then picked up by a driver.
"Even though they have the driver in custody, I can guarantee you there's going to be many more people we're looking for to prosecute," Homan said.
Federal prosecutors said James Mathew Bradley Jr., 60, of Clearwater, Florida, was taken into custody and would be charged on Monday. The local U.S. Attorney's Office wouldn't say whether Bradley was the alleged driver of the truck who was arrested. It was not immediately known whether Bradley had an attorney who could speak on his behalf.

Usher May Face STD-Related Lawsuits According to Blac Chyna's Lawyer

RadioOnFire.com - After a second woman came forward and filed a lawsuit against Usher, with the claim that he had exposed her to herpes without disclosing his infected status, many began to suspect that one accuser coming out within 48 hours of another might be the tip of the iceberg. Afterall, while the R&B star is indeed married, he has an admitted history of infidelity, thus the potential for groupies to come out of the woodwork with accounts of unprotected sex, whether valid or not, could threaten to sink his reputation.

And as it turns out, those prospects, according to celebrity attorney Lisa Bloom, have already begun to manifest, with more than one alleged victim having approached her since the original story broke.
