Officer Who Shot Terence Crutcher Claims She Went Deaf During Incident

RadioOnFire.com - The attorney representing Betty Shelby, the female officer who shot and killed Oklahoma man Terence Crutcher claims his client lost her hearing temporarily during the incident.
The lawyer claims Shelby suffered from an “auditory exclusion” during the shooting and wasn’t able to hear that her colleague Tyler Turnbough was ready to subdue Crutcher with his taser, according to The Grio. “She doesn’t have any recollection of that at all,” he said. The lawyer explained an auditory exclusion as a “phenomenon that sometimes occurs in stressful situations because the person experiencing it is so focuses on the critical incident.”
Using the impairment, Wood attempted to justify Shelby’s actions because she never had a reason to believe that Crutcher didn’t have a gun. “If you think someone has a gun, you don’t get your Taser out,” he said. The probable cause affidavit for the case tells a different story, one her defense is trying to undo. “Shelby reacted unreasonably by escalating the situation from a confrontation with Mr. Crutcher, who was not responding to verbal commands and was walking away from her with his hands held up, becoming emotionally involved to the point that she overreacted.”
“The video….clearly showed that Terence Crutcher did not have a weapon, that Terence was not belligerent, that Terence had his hands up, that Terence was not a threat,” said attorney Damario Solomon-Simmons who reps the Crutcher family. “When we saw that video, we knew there was no reason for Terence to be shot down in the street.”

John Legend Helps DJ Envy Change His Position On Stop and Frisk

RadioOnFire.com - After days of rigorous debate over law enforcement's institution of Stop and Frisk in poor communities of color, DJ Envy declared on Thursday [September 29], that he's had a change of heart on his position supporting a modified version of the policy. The Power 105.1 radio host announced the shift via Instagram, following an in-depth discussion the show's hosts had during the morning's episode of The Breakfast Club. It was in processing the argument posed by their politically active guest, singer John Legend, who said, "We have rights to walk through the streets without unreasonable search and seizure. That's the fourth amendment," that Envy says he was challenged to reconsider his thoughts on the former NYPD tactic.
"I had an opportunity to have a wonderful conversation with him today where he provided me and our listeners with a great deal of useful information regarding stop and frisk. This information played a large part in me revisiting my thoughts and opinions regarding stop and frisk," Envy wrote.
In his message, Envy confessed to having once been an opponent of Stop and Frisk, but felt forced to give second thought to where he stood on the issue after a recent attempt on his life. He expressed having felt conflicted over the virtue of the policy, considering he knows what it's like to have been profiled by police, all the while fearing that he or a loved one could potentially lose their lives due to senseless gun violence.
Envy would reiterate his stand that some kind of middle ground ought to be able to be met so that Stop and Frisk is administered fairly, but he then cited the abundance of information he's received since prompting a backlash over his position on Tuesday, and he credited it all with helping him better understand it's unconstitutional nature. "After several conversations within my community with John Legend and with my wife, I am not too proud to say that my views on Stop and Frisk have changed.. I spoke too soon..," he wrote.

Richard Sherman Says NFL Owners Don't Care Bout Their Players

RadioOnFire.com - Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman came out and said the NFL doesn’t care about its players while speaking with The Players Tribune this week.
“You’re gonna get arthritis in your knees. You’re gonna have stress in your back. There’s just things that come with the territory. Decisions and sacrifices that you knowingly make coming into this game. But the NFL really could care less,” he said. Sherman says ratings are the most important thing to the league. Players like Cam Newton have had to stay in the game after being hit in the face repeatedly because pulling them out would affect ratings. “If you can increase their bottom line, they’ll love you. They’ll do everything they can to put you out more. To market you. To make sure the fans buy your jersey. If you’re not making them money then they’re going to find somebody else,” he said.
Sherman went on to explain that the NFL really isn’t interested in how players feel about the league. “We really don’t have a reason to trust the NFL and I don’t think they mind either way,” he said. Sherman explained that the public has a misconception about the relationship between the league and the players. The league’s main interest is having them ready to play, according to Sherman. “They’re gonna use us until our times up,” he continued. Lastly, Sherman said the players need to fight for themselves.

Video of Fatal Police Shooting of 6 Year Old Autistic Boy Is Released to the Public

RadioOnFire.com - The body camera recording of a police shooting that claimed the life of a 6-year old autistic boy in Marksville, Louisiana last November, was brought to light on Wednesday [September 28], after the judge overseeing the case ordered its release. Upon making his decision to publicize the video, District Court Judge William Bennett declared that it counters the defense's argument that the driver, Christopher Few, 26, had used his vehicle in a manner that caused a threat to officers. The footage is set to be used as evidence in the up-coming trials of the two officers charged with 2nd degree murder in the shooting.
According to officers Derrick Stafford, 32, and Norris Greenhouse Jr., 23, Few had led them on a pursuit that they alleged turned deadly when Few rammed his SUV into their cruiser. He had proceeded to back into them once again at the moment they selected to open fire, they claimed. It will be difficult for the defense to stand behind their argument of self-defense following the video's release, as it doesn't appear to show Few backing up, and in fact, seems to reveal through the driver's side window, that he had his hands up when the shots rang out. When officers finally moved in, one can be heard whispering "F**k, ooh," before alerting the others that "there's a kid."
As officers proceeded past Few, whose critically wounded body hung slumped and bloody out of his window, they came to discover little Jeremy Mardis strapped into the vehicles front passenger seat. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hillary Clinton Uses Pusha T to Register People to Vote & Win a Meet and Greet

RadioOnFire.com - If you vote for Hillary Clinton this upcoming November, you just might get the chance to meet Pusha T.
That’s right; Hillary Clinton tweeted out a registration form yesterday for voters that will automatically put them in the running to meet the rapper. The meet and greet includes a night in a hotel and airfare. “Enter to win: meet Pusha T. Register to vote, and you’re automatically entered to win,” she wrote. The G.O.O.D. Music president recently divulged details on a conversation he had with Mrs. Clinton to Business Insider. “I’m sure she was hip and briefed,” he said. “But [the conversation] was simply about engaging, and being engaged, and making sure that I engage people to vote, and get my demographic to vote, Get people out to the polls, that was her main thing.”
Pusha T is no fan of her opponent Donald Trump and he even started selling a t-shirt with words once tweeted by Clinton to Trump urging him to “Delete Your Account.” She was referencing his Twitter where he is consistently engaging with the public and commenting on her.

Derrick Rose Uses Tupac Rape Case to Defend Himself Against Accuser

RadioOnFire.com - NBA Star Derrick Rose is now citing 2Pac’s infamous sexual assault case in his defense against an anonymous woman accusing him of rape.
Rose is urging the judge to have the woman reveal her identity. The rapper’s 1993 case saw his accuser be forced to reveal her identity by the judge. Rose said in court documents that his situation is almost identical to 2Pac’s with both of their accusers using their anonymity to bash them in the media. He believes it gives her an unfair advantage and is urging the judge to put a stop to it. A ruling on the matter is expected later today. “Mr. Rose would be placed at a serious disadvantage if he were required to defend himself publicly while Ms. Doe could make her accusations from behind a cloak of anonymity,” an excerpt from the document read.
In Pac’s case, the woman attempted to use a pseudonym to hide her identity, but the rapper objected, and the judge ended up siding with him. He also used the argument that her trashing him in the media gave her a “tactical advantage” in the case. Pac ended up serving nine months in prison for the crime. Rose is being accused of "gang raping" a woman in her L.A. home with his friends in 2013. He said he's "not worried" about the case at a press conference and is trying to focus on playing with his new team the NY Knicks.

Teen Kills Father Before Shooting Up South Carolina Elementary School

RadioOnFire.com - A 14-year old teen was apprehended after shooting a teacher and two students in the playground of a South Carolina elementary school on Wednesday, September 28. In addition to the Townville Elementary School shooting, officials from the Anderson County Sheriff's Office are also investigating the probability that a murder earlier reported across town on Osborne Road, was carried out by the suspect, as the victim has been identified as 47-year-old Jeffrey Dewitt Osborne, the father of the suspect.
According to reports, the incident occurred shortly after 1 p.m., when the suspect is said to have driven up and crashed into the fence surrounding the school's playground. Witnesses say that that is when the suspect got out with a handgun and opened fire, starting on a shooting spree that came to an end when veteran firefighter Jamie Brock took the suspect down upon arriving at the scene. One male student was shot in the foot and another male student at the school was shot in the leg. They were both rushed to the hospital along with the teacher, a female, who was shot in the shoulder.
Authorities confirm that the entirety of the incident took place outside of the school, and that practices designated from active shooter training helped minimize the potential of violence. Jamie Meredith, who is the parent of one of the students at the school conveyed the experience as it was explained to her by her daughter, saying, “She said they went in the bathroom. I don't know how they knew to go in the bathroom, but I know her teacher was shaken up. I know all the kids were scared. There was a bunch of kids crying. She didn't talk for about five minutes when I got her." Classes at Townville Elementary has since been canceled for the remainder of the week, and school personnel are preparing to provide counseling services, effective for when students return.
Investigators have ruled out any relationship between the suspect and students and staff at the school, as he is confirmed to be a home schooled student.

California Police Fatally Shoot Black Man Witnesses Say Was Unarmed

RadioOnFire.com - An unnamed man was fatally shot by police in El Cajon, California on Tuesday (September 27), and witnesses say that he was unarmed. No gun was found on the scene, and the woman's sister claimed that the man was mentally ill.
Officers responded to a call from the sister on Tuesday, and she told them that he wasn't acting like himself. Police Chief Jeff Davis said that the man was walking in traffic, endangering himself and motorists.
Once police arrived on the scene, they said the man paced back and forth with his hands in his pockets and said that he "rapidly drew and object" that he held like a gun. After the man withdrew the object, one officer fired a shot and another discharged his taser. When asked if the object was a weapon, Davis confirmed that it was not.

Bucks President Calls Milwaukee "The Most Segregated, Racist Place"

RadioOnFire.com - During a recent presentation given before the Rotary Club of Madison, in Wisconsin, Milwaukee Bucks President Peter Feigin shared his observation of the current nature of race relations in the city his team calls home. Feigin was speaking on plans to help rebuild the city through the contribution of his franchise, when in addressing the impact of creating employment for African-Americans, he described the racial disparities that exist there as akin to nothing he's seen in the U.S.
"We know we can't cure the world. But we are very determined to get ourselves involved in programs that we can measure a difference in and put our claws into for a long period of time and show a difference," Feignin responded. After a reporter cited an incident involving Bucks forward John Henson being racially profiled by a jewelry store that locked it's doors and called police on him during business hours. "Very bluntly, Milwaukee is the most segregated, racist place I've ever experienced in my life. It just is a place that is antiquated. It is in desperate need of repair and has happened for a long, long time. One of our messages and one of our goals is to lead by example," he said. You can hear his full remark at the 25:12 timestamp.
Judging by the findings presented in a 2016 report, Feigin's observation wouldn't be an exaggeration. The study, carried out by The Brookings Institution, listed Milwaukee ahead of Chicago, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and New York as the most segregated city in America. The city's racial demographics are so isolated apart from one another that it determined 78% of Blacks would have to cross over to inhabit densely white neighborhoods, and vice versa, for the demographics to balance out. An even greater disparity exists beyond the city [which is 40%, Black]. In contrast to the poverty that exists in the metropolitan Milwaukee, the suburbs are statistically Republican, wealthy, and white. The report cites places such as Washington County being 96% white and 1% Black, Ozaukee County being 95% white and 2% Black, and Waukesha County being 94% white and 1% Black.
The degree of disparity explored by the Brookings report came to light in the coverage numerous media outlets provided, following the riots sparked by the shooting of Syville Smith by an officer, in August. Violence broke out in the days that followed the incident, with some reports alleging that white reporters and citizens were being targeted amid the hostility.

Homeless Man Beat By Unprovoked Houston Police

RadioOnFire.com - On Monday [September 26], the METRO police chief released surveillance video from an incident in August that showed an officer beat a black homeless man on a light rail station platform in Houston while another officer watched.
In the video, the Metro officers, Daniel Reynoso and Jairus Warren approach the homeless man, Darrell Giles, who is slumped over on a bench on the platform at the Burnett Station.  After a brief exchange, Giles stands up only to fall back down on the seat after Warren draws his baton and begins to repeatedly strike him.  Giles falls from the bench eventually onto the ground, writhing in pain with each strike from the baton.  The beating lasted 19 seconds.
Later in the video, Reynoso seems to intervene, but then helps pin Giles down with his knee on his back while he appears to search him.  The officers then arrested Giles and charged him with criminal trespass and resisting arrest.  The charges were later dismissed and Giles was released from jail.
The two Houston police officers were both suspended during the investigation. Officer Reynoso was later cleared of wrongdoing and returned to service, but he will be required to undergo additional training.  Officer Warren resigned Monday morning and Chief Vera Bumpers said an internal review board validated the excessive force allegations against him and recommended his termination. The investigation has now been handed over to the Harris County District Attorney's Office.
"I thought he pulled a gun out," Giles told Eyewitness News . "He hit me so hard, he knocked me to the ground, so the first couple licks, he's just standing over me going bom, bom, bom making some noise."

"I don't remember too much. All I remember is bracing myself and just taking the licks and I was holding my arm up," Giles added.

Woman Unloads Gunfire at Three Armed Robbers, Killing One

RadioOnFire.com - Surveillance video from the inside of a Gwinnett County, GA residence shows an invasion that took a bold turn, when a woman staying in the home suddenly bursts out blasting, killing one and chasing off a pair of surviving intruders.
The unidentified occupant of the Spring Drive residence, seen in the video, is said to be a housemate of its owner, who works at a local restaurant. But moments after the assailants are seen kicking the front door in, she rushes out to confront them in defense of the property. "She exercised her right to defend her livelihood," Cpl. Deon Washington of the Gwinnett County Police Department told a local news station about the incident. In the video, the men scatter at the sound of gunfire, with one man running back out through the front entrance, while another jumps through a glass door leading to the back. The intruder who fell casualty was discovered to have succumbed to his injuries in the driveway.
Police suspect that the motive behind the 4:30 a.m. break-in entailed the intruders searching for money. Police continue to investigate, as a search is under way for any possible suspects.

Man Dead After Police Involved Shooting in Ruxton

RadioOnFire.com - After traffic was stopped in on Falls Road following a nearby bank robbery, an encounter with one vehicle led a police patrol sergeant to shoot and kill a suspect Friday afternoon.
Both men were wanted in several bank robberies, including one that had just taken place.
Police responded at 1:08 p.m. to the Wells Fargo Bank in the 1500 block of Reisterstown Road. In short order, the sergeant shut down traffic at Falls and Old Court roads, what was thought to be a likely escape route.
Early investigation, police say, has found officers were on foot on Old Court Road along the line of stopped traffic when a Ford Taurus traveling east pulled out of that line, crossed the center line and drove toward one officer. At about 1:20 p.m., as the vehicle was headef for the officer, he fired into the front windshield, striking the driver. The car went through the intersection and continued onto Ruxton Road, where it hit a civilian vehicle. That vehicle then hit another. Nobody in those two vehicles was seriously injured.
Only the driver was struck. At some point after the shooting, one of the cars struck another car.
He said he could not yet confirm any reports of an exchange of gunfire and wasn't aware of how many shots, if any, were fired by the subjects inside the car. However, he said officers rendered immediate medical aid to the man who was shot. The second man suffered non-life threatening injuries, and was wanted in multiple bank robberies, police later said.
"He stopped vehicles because of the bank robbery. We don't know yet what happened during that interaction between the vehicle that was shot at and the officer," Wachter said. "There are some things that we don't know yet."
Wachter said the car has yet to be processed for evidence, and witnesses had yet to be interviewed. Police have not yet released the names of the two men in the car or the police sergeant involved. That officer will be placed on routine administrative leave, and his last name will be released sometime in the next two days, per an agreement with the Fraternal Order of Police lodge. In addition to the administrative review and homicide investigation, the Baltimore County Firearms Discharge Review Board will examine the actions taken.
The shooting comes days after the death of Tawon Boyd, who died several days after a fight with officers in Middle River, and the decision by prosecutors not to press charges in the death of Korryn Gaines. She was shot and killed by police during an hours-long standoff in her Randallstown apartment.

Keith Scott's Wife Told Officers He Was Unarmed

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Video of a deadly encounter between Charlotte police and a black man shows his wife repeatedly telling officers he is not armed and pleading with them not to shoot as they shout commands to drop a gun.
The New York Times posted the video, recorded by the wife of 43-year-old Keith Lamont Scott, on Friday. The 2 ½-minute video does not show the shooting, though gunshots can be heard.
His wife tells officers at the scene that he has a traumatic brain injury. At one point, she tells her husband to get out of the car so that police don't break the windows. As the encounter escalates, she tells them repeatedly: "You better not shoot him."
After the gunshots are heard, Scott can be seen lying on the ground while his wife says "he better live." She continues recording and asks if an ambulance is called as officers stand over Scott. It is not clear if they are checking Scott, who appears to be laying on his chest, for weapons or attempting to render aid.
The video was posted after a third night of protests over the shooting gave way to quiet streets as a curfew enacted by the city's mayor ended early Friday.
The largely peaceful Thursday night demonstrations in the city's business district, watched over by rifle-toting members of the National Guard, called on police to release video that could resolve wildly different accounts of the shooting of a black man earlier this week. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Kerr Putney said Friday that there is footage from at least one police body camera and one dashboard camera.
The family of Keith Lamont Scott, 43, was shown the footage Thursday of his fatal shooting and demanded that police release it to the public. The video recorded by Scott's wife had not been previously released.
Demonstrators chanted "release the tape" and "we want the tape" Thursday while briefly blocking an intersection near Bank of America headquarters and later climbing the steps to the door of the city government center. Later, several dozen demonstrators walked onto an interstate highway through the city, but they were pushed back by police in riot gear.
Charlotte is the latest U.S. city to be shaken by protests and recriminations over the death of a black man at the hands of police, a list that includes Baltimore, Milwaukee, Chicago, New York and Ferguson, Missouri. In Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Thursday, prosecutors charged a white officer with manslaughter for killing an unarmed black man on a city street last week.
Thursday's protests in Charlotte lacked the violence and property damage of previous nights, and the curfew encouraged a stopping point. Local officers' ranks were augmented by Guard members carrying rifles and guarding office buildings against the threat of property damage.
Charlotte Mayor Jennifer Roberts signed documents Thursday night to be in effect from midnight until 6 a.m. each day that the state of emergency declared by the governor continues.
After the curfew took effect, police allowed the crowd of demonstrators to thin without forcing them off the street. Police Capt. Mike Campagna told reporters that officers would not seek to arrest curfew violators as long as they were peaceful.
So far, police have resisted releasing the footage of Scott's death. Putney said Friday that releasing it could inflame the situation and damage trust in the community. He has said previously that the video will be made public when he believes there is a "compelling reason" to do so.
"It's a personal struggle, but I have to do what I think is best for my community," Putney said.
Roberts said during that same news conference that "I do believe the video should be released. The question is on the timing."
Earlier in the week, the Charlotte protests turned violent. On Wednesday, demonstrators attacked reporters and others, set fires and smashed windows of hotels, office buildings and restaurants in the city's bustling business district.
Forty-four people were arrested after Wednesday's protests, and one protester who was shot died at the hospital Thursday; city officials said police did not shoot 26-year-old Justin Carr. Putney said Friday that video led investigators to a suspect who was arrested, but he provided few other details.
Police have said Scott was shot to death Tuesday by a black officer after he disregarded repeated warnings to drop his gun. Neighbors, though, have said he was holding only a book. The police chief said a gun was found next to the dead man, and there was no book.
Putney said he has seen the video and it does not contain "absolute, definitive evidence that would confirm that a person was pointing a gun." But he added: "When taken in the totality of all the other evidence, it supports what we said."
Justin Bamberg, an attorney for Scott's family, watched the video with the slain man's relatives. He said that in the video, Scott gets out of his vehicle calmly.
"While police did give him several commands, he did not aggressively approach them or raise his hands at members of law enforcement at any time. It is impossible to discern from the videos what, if anything, Mr. Scott is holding in his hands," Bamberg said in a statement.
Scott was shot as he walked slowly backward with his hands by his side, Bamberg said.
The lawyer said at a news conference earlier in the day that Scott's wife saw him get shot, "and that's something she will never, ever forget." That is the first time anyone connected with the case has said the wife witnessed the shooting. Bamberg gave no details on what the wife saw.
The police chief acknowledged that he has promised transparency in the investigation, but said, "I'm telling you right now, if you think I say we should display a victim's worst day for consumption, that is not the transparency I'm speaking of."

White Driver Pulls Out a Gun During Charlotte Protests

RadioOnFire.com - On the second night of protests in Charlotte, a white man in a car drove up to the crowd and pulled out a gun. He seemed to be yelling at the crowd as he kept the gun pointed to the ground and next to his door, and he became agitated when the protesters didn't move out of his way.
At one point the driver got out of the car while protesters told him, "Don't do it man." Officers on bikes rolled up to the man's car and spoke with him before the driver backed his car up and left the situation.

Michael Jordan Makes Plea for Calm Amid Charlotte Unrest

RadioOnFire.com - Michael Jordan has called for cooler heads to prevail, following consecutive nights of protests that gave way to violence and destruction in downtown Charlotte. Through a statement put out on Thursday afternoon [September 22], Jordan expressed condolences to the family of Keith Lamont Scott, and sent regards to those who who've been injured amid the lawlessness. He then pleaded for demonstrators to commit to a unifying means of dissent, with respects to the recent tragedies involving the shooting of Black men by police in North Carolina and Oklahoma.
"In light of the tragic events of the past three days, it is more important than ever that we restore calm and come together, as a community in peaceful demonstration and conversation, and in constructive and non-violent ways," stated Jordan, before speaking on behalf of the city's basketball franchise. "As part of the fabric of Charlotte, the Hornets organization is committed to working with civic leaders, our elected leaders and law enforcement to foster most trust, transparency and understanding so we can heal and grow together as a community."
Scenes of enraged citizens confronting and throwing objects at police in riot gear began to saturate the media, hours after the 43-year-old Scott was shot in the seat of his car on Tuesday. By Wednesday night, came images of rioters causing destruction to businesses, and reporters being roughed up, as officials lost control of the uprising, and the district was shut down. At least one person was critically injured and four officers were hurt. Authorities continue to investigate the Scott shooting, with officials claiming to have reviewed footage that proves he was armed, in support of officer Brentley Vinson's claim that his life was threatened. The victim's family disputes Vinson's story, saying that Scott had been waiting for his son to return from school, with a book in his hand.
Followers of headlines dating back to the shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile in July, will recall Jordan gaining the hearts of many for speaking out against police violence in an open letter titled, "I can no longer stay silent."

Tulsa Officer Who Shot Terrence Crutcher is Charged with Manslaughter

RadioOnFire.com - The white Tulsa, Okla., police officer captured on video fatally shooting an unarmed black man on a city street will face first-degree manslaughter charges, Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler announced at a news conference.

The prosecutor filed the charges against officer Betty Shelby on Thursday, a full six days after multiple cameras showed her shooting 40-year-old Terence Crutcher as he stood beside his stalled sport-utility vehicle. Moments earlier, cameras had captured Crutcher walking away from Shelby with his hands in the air.

“The tragic circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Crutcher are on the hearts and minds of many people in this community,” he said, according to NBC affiliate KJRH

“It’s important to note that despite the heightened tensions felt by all, which seemingly beg for an emotional response and reaction, our community has consistently demonstrated the willingness to respect the judicial process.”

“I do not know why things happen in this world the way they do,” Kunzweiler added. “We need to pray for wisdom and guidance.”

CNN Reporter Gets Knocked Down By Protester in Charlotte

RadioOnFire.com - A CNN reporter was checked to the ground during the protests in Charlotte, North Carolina this week.
The reporter was doing his job when a man ran into him and knocked him to the ground. The fall was broadcast and was aired in the clip above. He gets right back up after and tells Anderson Cooper that he’s "ok.” His colleagues ended up helping him back to his feet, and he refused to leave that area after Cooper suggested that maybe he cover the protests from a different site.

The protests were sparked by the death of Black man, Keith Lamont, who was killed at the hands of police. They’ve gotten more dangerous throughout the week and prompted the state’s governor to declare a state of emergency over the city. Police even had to resort to tear gas to calm the frustrated crowds. The police shot Scott after he approached them and refused to drop his weapon. Some eyewitnesses claim it was nothing but a book, but the city’s police commissioner said those reports were inaccurate.

Don King Accidentally Uses N-Word While Introducing Donald Trump

RadioOnFire.com - A three-city swing through Ohio took a shocking turn for the GOP presidential campaign Wednesday morning [September 21], when during a stop in Cleveland Heights, legendary boxing promoter and Trump supporter, Don King, slurred the N-word during a speech endorsing the billionaire candidate.
"We need Donald Trump, especially black people. Because you've got to understand my Black brothers and sisters, they told me you've got to try to emulate and imitate the white man, and then you can be successful. So we tried that," King said, as Trump looked on from a seat positioned behind the podium at the New Spirit Revival Center Church. "I told Michael Jackson, If you’re poor, you are a poor negro. I would use the n-word. But if you’re rich, you are a rich Negro. If you are intelligent, intellectual, you’re an intellectual Negro. If you’re a dancing and sliding and gliding n****r -- I mean negro -- you are a dancing and sliding and gliding negro,” he then followed.
Some in the audience, made up of mostly pastors, gasped, and others laughed as the 85-year-old continued with a diatribe in which he'd incorporate a word on the plight of white women in comparison to the suffering of African-Americans. "The white woman did not have the rights, and she still don't have the rights. And people of color don't have their rights — those are the left outs,” he'd say, before encouraging a vote for Trump as their resolution. “He’s fearless; he’s courageous and brave and bold enough to take on the system,” he said.
King, who was barred from speaking at the Republican National Convention despite being a long-time Republican, has been championing Trump as an anti-establishment candidate. He is also scheduled to introduce Trump at stops in Dayton and Toledo.

Inmate Dies Begging for Water in Prison ran by Trump Supporter Sheriff Clarke

RadioOnFire.com - A municipal medical examiner declared the death of a prisoner at The Milwaukee County Jail a homicide by "profound dehydration" last week, leading to questions as to how inmates might be getting treated at the facility. News of the disclosure is garnering significant attention due to recognition of anti-Black Lives Matter Sheriff David Clarke as the party who provides oversight for the jail.
Nine days after his arrest in connection with a shooting, 38-year-old Terrill Thomas was found dead in his cell, on April 24. According to his fellow inmates, Thomas had been heard begging for something to drink for at least six days; over the duration of which, the water in his cell had been shut off, investigators confirm. Attorney Erik J. Heipt, who has been representing Thomas' family, said that there had been others from Milwaukee County Jail who've contacted him to complain that their water too has been cut off. Albeit death by dehydration is something that rarely occurs in prison, there, in fact, was an incident in 2011 in which a prisoner, Antonio Cowser, died after his cell stopped running water.
“They may well have had reason to turn off the water. There absolutely could be reasons why you’d want to turn off someone’s water in their cell. But to then not give them drinking water? That’s crazy,” Heipt said. “To make a human being die of thirst, where they have no ability to get their own water for survival, that’s pretty inhumane. It doesn’t get much worse than that.”

State's Attorney Mosby Tells Students Justice Still Prevailed In Freddie Gray Cases

Speaking at a Constitution Day event at Baltimore City Community College, Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby told students that the cases related to the death of Freddie Gray, while not generating any convictions, still brought important reforms to Baltimore City.
The Baltimore Sun reports that Mosby spoke to students on Monday and told them that "justice has still prevailed" in the cases because the attention brought about changes like the start of the Police Department's body camera program and the use of cameras inside all police vans.
"What is now guaranteed is that what happened to him will never take place in the city of Baltimore again as a result of those charges," she said.
